The tank pads are quite substantial and have definitely improved the 'grip' for my legs and the comfort, on long rides.

It has adhesive tape only on the margins of the pad, about 1 cm width, the rest is non-adhesive rubber. It feels retro style with subtle imprinted design and after a month of good use, had no issues with it despite few rainy rides and long miles journeys. It doesn't not offer the best anti-slip properties, nevertheless they are satisfactory for touring.
