I waited until these were available in black, but I wish I’d bought the silver ones now. The black finish is thin and scratches easily. A slip with the screwdriver has really spoiled the look of one of the guards. They are also a real faff to fit. There are two sizes of fitting bracket in the box, and two lengths of bolts, but you get twice as many bolts as you need, a) because its pretty much up to you which length of bolt you use, so long as it doesn't touch the cylinder head and b) because the bolts strip their threads rather easily. Worse was the fiddling about so that the guards didn’t touch the cylinder head either. On one side, I had very small but acceptable clearance, but the other simply would not fit without touching the cylinder head. Eventually, I had to remove the thing, bend the ‘fins’ on the guard outwards, and then refit. Not the experience one expects given the price of these things.
