Reviews of Wunderlich Elephant tank bag - large (add base plate for your model)

Ok but too pricey for what it is Stephen Morris on Sep 22, 2022

The tank bag is quite well made but a silly price for what it is, and issues with the base unit

Fits well and feels secure with good space for items. Fully expanded you have limited view of bike instruments however. You need to add pouches or dividers to organise properly or everything will just get into a mess inside.

I bought this tank bag for my previous bike (GT) - I was really impressed with it. It has plenty of room, a good size map pocket, but the thing I found most useful was the storage for a spare visor. Having it on the tank bag keeps it safe from scratches and other accidental damage. I liked this bag so much that I may buy the base plate and try it on my GS (i held off due to reviews on the base plate for the GS).

Is well made and fits well. I was concerned whether the tank bag would be too big for my bike but it is good. Not ridden my bike with it on yet so will test this shorty. Am pleased with what I see so far

Upgraded to this tank bag after using a BMW tank bag on my 05R1200GS. The bag is not as big as my old BMWGS bag which was not expandable. This one is expandable (up) and if I filled it with a similar quantity of items weight would sit higher. Build quality is great and I've left the base plate on the bike so far. Mounting is very secure when all velcro tags are used and manageable for around town without. Map pocket is versatile. side pockets are thin but will be useful for the wallet, phone etc.

Great tank bag. Easy to put on and take off with the additional base plate. Definitely recommend it.

I like this tank bag , it carries a remarkable amount of kit when fully expanded , it looks like it will last a long time and is made to a very high standard . The fastening system to the tank is strong and robust . The map case is useful . The downsides maybe for the smaller rider , I'm 6'2, are that if you have the bag full to the brim you'll be hard pushed to see your dials , also I'd have liked a clear mobile phone pocket maybe on the top or side . But overall I think it's a very good buy .
