Reviews of Wunderlich hand guards (tint) – K1600GT/1600GTL up to 2016

Very efficient process of order to delivery. Arrived well packaged, no damage. Relatively straight forward instructions & easy to fit, but would recommend more detail necessary on the different bolt sizes & where they should fit together with washer (s) placement... this would be useful to someone with little or no engineering knowledge/experience. Prior to fitment of bolts I pre-copper-slipped each bolt & 'run' the bolts (by hand) in & out of their respective positions to ensure easy assembly, which occurred. Time taken was around an hour to fit both. Only downside & care needs to be taken on this point...when 'locking' the steering (on right hand lock) the lower right hand part of the Hand Guard does come into contact with the tank (albeit slightly) so maybe a minor change to the manufactured shape on future hand guards needs to occur? I would naturally assume the same will occur (on left hand guard) if you put it on full left hand lock, although I have not checked this as yet? Whatever the case, I can live with that. Overall, the Wunderlich Hand Guards have exceeded my expectations & perform superbly & thoroughly recommended! No more cold/wet hands, an excellent product!

Well packaged and came on time. However not as easy to put on. Took me over half an hour to put the first one on. The second was even more difficult. The screws aren’t long enough and don’t go in the threads properly. Persistence caused threading of the handlebar screw. Had to go to the dealer who had to retread and fix it with loctite. Surely they could have designed them to make installation easier. However now they are on the bike, they look good and do stop some wind from freezing fingers. However even though I have heated grips the ends of the thumb and index finger still freeze. I am looking for heated gloves now, probably Gerbing, to do long journeys in winter. Good product but certainly not the best.
