Excellent Kit Simon Holder on Jul 02, 2024

Anyone who owns an RT, will know that the front compartment for storing your phone is absolutely useless, hence my search for a solution whereby I could house my iPhone 15 pro whilst using the BMW nav app. What a great bit of kit, holds my phone with ease, no over heating issues, and using an optimate 90 degree DIN plug for powering the iPhone, also purchased from NN, works a treat.

The bag fits well in between the handlebars, although the velcro straps could be a little longer as you have to get it perfectly placed centrally to feel truly confident that it is going nowhere.
It's not very big but big enough for those smaller items you may want easy access to, yet small enough not to be a hassle when you take it off and carry it with you when you get off the bike.
The phone slot is a decent size and my iPhone 13 plus just goes in whilst in it's case. My only issue has been that sometimes I cannot read the phone in bright light because the plastic viewing window reflects the light badly - not sure how this could be overcome though! Oh and yes it's touch screen sensitive but I find only with actual fingers and my touch sensitive gloves won't work.
All in all a good piece of kit made to the usual Wunderlich high standard although you do pay over the odds for it.

A well made product. Looks a bit cheap and nasty but fully waterproof . Could do with being a tad larger for my requirements but very easy to mount and remove .

This bag fits neatly to the 'V' of the handlebars - though which way up is something of a mystery. If the flap closes to the top - the opening for the phone is on the left - the DIN plug and feed from the fairing USB point are on the right. A diagram of it on the bike would be helpful.
Mine also came with the rubber waterproof cable entry point in the rear - but the piece of canvas then sewn over it means there is no hole to poke the cable through - which I though was a bit odd.
When subject to hard downpour over a protracted period the contents will get damp. Its handy - but not entirely waterproof and the cable entry needs sorting.
NN SAYS
For those that DO NOT with to use the cable entry the cable entry is sealed and needs to be cut as shown on the instructions to allow cable entry.
The bag is positioned on the bike as in the image on the website.
hope this helps

I was looking for a means to use an iPhone for maps and also to carry a few personal items without using a RAM system or having a tank bag. This item fitted both needs. It sits neatly over the headstock and fastens securely with Velcro. My phone is clearly visible (iPhone 11 fits well) and the internal compartment can carry passport, wallet, hand gels, sweets and tissues but not much else. There is a front pocket that I store cash and bank card in for toll roads etc. I am writing this from Italy, having ridden from the U.K. via Belgium and France, including through serious rain two days ago (everything stayed dry) and I’m very pleased with this item. It does what I wanted. It’s not the cheapest but it’s been worth it. There’s also a shoulder strap with it. This can be removed or tucked under the bag when mounted.

Expensive but functional, happy with what it doess, fits well on the K1600 bars.
Reference the water-resistant and waterproof, unfortunately not.... been out in normal and hard rain, soaked through each time.
Little disappointing in the end...................................
V useful little bag. Fits well. Andrew Bailey on Jun 09, 2019

Good bag, but bloody expensive. Water proof, even in horrible storm weather. Phone pocket big enough for iPhone X in case, or all my receipts and peage tag. One note though, the peage gates didn’t all like the location of the tag. Had to get it out a couple of times.
Velcro straps are a little tight but it is possible to tuck the shoulder strap under them as well saving effort.

This bag has been transformed from the original version. It has a single tab fixing either side and they are longer than the original so has a good tight fit. The pocket size for the Phone has been increased (taken from Wunderlich site). the Media slot for XL devices up to approx. 190 x 105 x10 mm (HxWxD) - e.g. iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung S6 edge+, etc. Takes my new large iPhone XR with its case easily, I also understand the material has been improved and now full waterproof. It fits easily and does not obstruct any of the bikes features, looks like a very well made product. It also now comes complete with a shoulder strap.
