Keeps the crud off.. David Howarth on Aug 06, 2024

Surprised BMW did not add one as standard. Keeps the crud of the rear spring and also reduces the crud on my misses legs too. Just the job.

The Wunderlich motto is ‘finish off your BMW’ and nothing is more true than with this part. The mud sling should be standard on all BMW flat twins as it is with the RT. But as it is not then this piece of plastic become critical especially if you ride your bike all year round. It effectively protects the shock and expensive electronics for the rear suspension from salt and water ingress. Well made and designed and an easy fit and solution.

Keeps the expensive parts of the bike protected from road grime. Easy to fit, looks good. Arrived on time and securely packed

Despite tie-wrap fastening, this lightweight guard fits securely and really does the job of keeping dirt away from the shock ESA unit and back of riders legs.

An expensive piece of plastic but it does fit well and is easily secured with the cable ties supplied. I am not sure about this fixing method - it seems a bit basic but it is simple and seems to work, as does the guard itself.

This guard has an ingenious fitting method which means there is no possibility of fouling the rear tyre which has been a problem on previous bikes. As a result it looks as though it will do a good job protecting the main spring and I can just forget about it whereas it's often been a source of worry whilst riding other bikes, not BMW.
